First grandbaby’s pine toybox after first coat of finish

Nice thing about making something for somebody who hasn’t been born yet (little Ginny is due Thanksgiving week) is there’s not a lot of pressure to rush it. This is just a little pine project, nothing like the hardwood furniture I usually make, but it seemed like just the ticket for a child’s toybox. Still, I was happy with how the grain and knots popped out after the first coat of finish, which combined some urethane and linseed oil to mellow it out just slightly. One more coat of this and I’ll add a few coats of poly to make the finish more durable.
